Job Title: Seasonal Warehouseman
Department: Transmission & Distribution
Reports To: Warehouseman
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

This position is a seasonal position, responsible for assisting warehouseman during increased construction activities and supervision of summer student laborer(s).

Working as a team to complete an assigned task safely and efficiently. Operating motor vehicles, forklifts, hand tools, power tools, and brush clearing equipment in a professional and safe manner. Assist Warehouseman as needed.

(% of total working time) - Work Task And Duties

  • (30%) - Summer Student Laborer Supervision (May-August) – Direct supervision of two summer student laborers for facility clean-up, site brushing, warehouse assistance, and overall safety.
  • (25%) - Warehousing – Material receiving, stocking, issuing, delivering, and inventory controls.
  • (20%) - Facility Clean-up – Maintain a clean and safe work space around Company facilities.
  • (15%) - Project Support – Powerline construction material acquisition and delivery to project sites.
  • (10%) - Small Engine Repair – Provide company wide support as needed.

Facility and Equipment Cleaning.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years work experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must authorize pre-employment release of Department of Motor Vehicles (DOT) records to validate insurability according to Company practice and maintain a valid DOT physical card. Must be able to complete Company safety training. Preferences will be given for electrical trade experience and warehousing experience. Eligible dates of employment are typically from April 15th to December 15th.

Motor vehicles (flatbed <14,000GMVW), forklift, brush clearing equipment, power tools, and hand tools.

In order to meet all expectations of this position you will need to be able to lift 70 lbs. without assistance and be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all types of weather.

For an employee to succeed in this position they will need to: utilize analytical skills for common problem solving, prioritize work load, work safely, work efficiently, collaborate with coworkers, and adapt to changing assignments.

This position is represented by IBEW Local #1547 and subject to the current signed Agreement between AELP and IBEW Local #1547. An hourly wage is set at 85% of the current IBEW NECA Journeyman Wage.
