Activities
- 4/26/08, Contractor personnel start assembling
replacement towers at Snettisham.
Two of the structures, 3/4 and 3/5 are completed.
- Avalanche control work continues.
Receive additional explosives for avalanche control work.
Estimating 30 to 50 shots per week, using 10,000 to 12,000
lbs. of explosives.
- Avalanche safety training conducted for all work
crews prior to their working on the mountain.
- Crews begin to dig out helipads to provide
access at tower sites.
- Foundations uncovered for tower 4/6.
They appear to be in usable condition.
- Guy anchors were located for tower 3/4.
They are generally in good condition.
- Still unsafe for crews to access site of tower
3/5.
- Additional barge for equipment and supplies to
Snettisham
