Make sure you know where you are in the current billing cycle.  Some of us are still paying the 43-cent Cost of Power Adjustment charge, while others are now on the lower rate.

To find out when your meter is scheduled to be read this month, find the first three digits of your account number from your bill and look at the meter-reading date.  After your meter is read, you can resume more “normal” usage if you wish.  Keep in mind that one more ECOPA billing after the high bill will be issued to complete the emergency fuel cost billing process.

  

If your account number is NOT listed below, then you've already received your high bill.  That means you are now using electricity that will be billed at about 11.4 cents per kilowatt-hour.  After this second bill has been received, the rate for the rest of the summer will be a total of about 10.8 cents per kWh for residential customers.  These totals are pending approval by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska and apply to residential customers.
