You need to give us at least two working days to be assured of having your meter read and your service disconnected on the day you want.  If another person has signed an application for service at your location, the meter will not be turned off.

If you wish to end service -- and you are not transferring service to another location -- send us a fax, an email, or a note with the following information:

  • Print or type your name, the account number, and service location.

  • The date you want service to be discontinued in your name.  Note that disconnection can occur if a responsible party has not applied for service.

  • Your forwarding address, so that the closing bill and deposit refund, if due, can be sent.

Request for Disconnection form

Note:  We do not disconnect services on Fridays, weekends, and on the business day before a holiday.  Requests that involve these days will be covered on the first available business day.

Your closing bill will usually be mailed within a couple weeks after your meter was read and turned off.  We have 30 days from the date your responsibility for the account ends to issue refund checks or unused portions of service deposits.
