First quarter COPA for 2021 will increase slightly to $0.006256 per kWh.

Sales to Greens Creek means savings to our customers. However, if sales to Greens Creek are reduced for any reason, then that means higher rates for our customers for a period of time. Also, diesel generation costs cause the COPA to increase.

Storm damage in the past couple of months reduced sales to Greens Creek and we had to temporarily burn diesel during power restoration. Both of these factors caused the COPA to increase slightly for the first quarter of 2021.
