Effective immediately and until further notice, AEL&P will temporarily suspend late fees and defer non-payment disconnections.  Regular billing will continue, and customers that are able should continue to make payments on time.

If you find it difficult to make payments due to financial hardship, please contact us as soon as possible at 463-6305.  Our credit office is available to answer questions or make payment arrangements to help you stay current on your bill.

March 17, 2020

In response to the COVID-19 risk and the City and Borough of Juneau’s March 16, 2020 emergency declaration, AEL&P has closed its main lobby.  This is a temporary and precautionary measure to safeguard the health of our employees and the public.

The lobby will be closed until further notice.

We will continue to conduct business through our drive-through window, our website (aelp.com), via email (service@aelp.com), or by phone (907-780-2222). Payments can be made electronically, or through the payment drop boxes located at the AEL&P main office, at Super Bear, and Foodland.

We will post this information via our website, social media, and a notice on the front door of our Tonsgard office.

Future updates will be made via billing messages on customer statements, as well as by posts to our website and social media.

AEL&P provides an essential service to the community, and we take that responsibility seriously.

AEL&P has various emergency preparedness and response plans.  In response to the COVID-19 threat, we are emphasizing Centers for Disease Control (CDC) best practices such as social distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes hygienically, staying home when sick, and cleaning personal and shared spaces.

Additionally, we are revisiting and modifying our preparedness and response plans based on updated information, and will continue to do so as necessary. We are prepared to take all steps necessary to ensure continuity of our essential service to the community.

At this point, the AEL&P office will remain open to the public.  However, we encourage customers to utilize email, phone, and our website whenever possible as a precautionary measure. We will keep the community updated of any changes.
