Landslide Alert!

October 7, 2019

The flume trail will not be open to the public Oct 7th as planned. The heavy rains over the weekend caused a landslide that took out a portion of a bridge on the trail. Clean up and repair is expected to take about four weeks. We will post more info when we have it.

Phase one of the Gold Creek Flume Trail reconstruction project is wrapping up. Workers will be out of the area by the end of day Sunday, October 6. The flume trail will be open for public use on Monday, October 7. Please be aware that the trail looks a bit different as the project is only partially complete. To ensure public safety and to allow for access during fall and winter, we have added stairs, hand railings and other safety improvements to sections of the trail. Be sure to check avalanche forecasts during the winter before attempting to access the flume trail.

Construction will begin on the second and final phase of construction in Spring 2020. For additional info, please call 780.2222.

July 2019

AEL&P has made good progress on the Flume project. The trail is expected to reopen in early October.

Please note: due to some unforeseen delivery issues, sections of the flume will not yet be reconstructed which means part of the trail will transitions from boardwalk down to ground level via stairs.

The project will resume in spring 2020.
