To Our Neighbors,

As some of you already know, I will be retiring at the end of the year after 26 years of service here at AEL&P.  It’s hard for me to explain what working here has meant to me.  In brief, it has been both rewarding and challenging, and I’m very grateful that I had a chance to be part of the AEL&P family for so long.

Alec Mesdag will be the next President and CEO.  Alec has been with AEL&P for over a decade, and he is well versed in the operations of the company - he has connections throughout Alaska due to his involvement as a current or prior board member of Southeast Conference, Juneau Economic Development Council, Alaska Heat Smart, Treadwell Historic Preservation and Restoration Society, Alaska Mariculture Alliance, and others.

Knowing that what we do at AEL&P affects every person and business in town is a reminder to do our best each day, and I can assure you that I have always kept that in mind. Alec and all of the other AEL&P employees will continue to do the same and will proudly serve our community for many years to come.
