Salmon Creek Trail is now OPEN to Public Access. The Salmon Creek penstock is back in service with AELP, CBJ and DIPAC all using water directly from the reservoir again.

A major milestone in the penstock repair was reached today! AEL&P, assisted by Rotak Helicopter Services and Henricksen Constructors Inc., completed the heavy lift operation to get the new pipe sections up to the repair site.  The heaviest piece was just under 5200 pounds!  Welding and painting are the next steps.  The crew has made excellent progress on the project, safely and without incident, and repairs are currently ahead of schedule.  Please note that the trail remains closed to public access until repairs are completed.
