AEL&P now offers a first line of defense to guard against surges and
spikes entering your home or small business. Get extra protection
for your "white" appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, etc.)
while helping your outlet surge protectors do their jobs, all for the
great price of $149.95.
How does it work? The HomeGuard unit plugs
in between your
meter and electrical panel. It can absorb up to 100,000 peak amps
of current. Keep in mind, however,
that it's often what
happens inside your four walls that causes damaging surges. That's
why AEL&P also recommends a second line of defense: Good outlet
surge protection and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) protection with voltage control for your
computer.
Note: HomeGuard will not protect your equipment
from outages and split-second low-voltage problems, often referred to as
brownouts.
Warranty:

device, backed by EFI Electronics Corp.

$1,000 per covered
"white" appliance that has been damaged, up to $10,000 for one
occurrence. This is also provided by EFI.

You will be called when
installation is scheduled. During installation, a brief outage
will occur as the meter is removed and the HomeGuard
unit is placed over the meter socket.
